Life’s such a drag
Hitting 317mph at Santa Pod in the European Championship final

September 7, 2025 Santa Pod, Northants
Sweden’s Susanne Callin and her Slick Tricks Top Fuel Dragster lets rip to win the FIA European Championship. In a winner-takes-all final, Callin beat defending champion Jndia Erbacher. Last year, Swiss Erbacher – who calls her 11,000bhp dragster Jasmine – came from third in the points to win the crown, and threatened a repeat. Britain’s Liam Jones had held a slender points lead until Erbacher defeated him in the semi-final. Callin qualified on pole at 3.877sec over 1000ft, and Erbacher clocked top speed at 317.95mph. Callin returned to Top Fuel in 2019 after a 14-year break pursuing family life. At this race, her teenage daughter Jacqueline stepped up to the adult ranks in the Super Pro ET class, mirroring her mother’s progression a quarter of a century ago.
