IN the death of Frederick S. Duesenberg, at the early age of 58, America has lost one of her most valuable motoring personalities. A recent motoring accident resulted in double pneumonia, and it was from this illness that Fred Duesenberg died. Born in Germany in 1876, Duesenberg was taken to America as a child. tures were mainly concerned with bicycles and motor cycles. Then in the year 1905 he founded the Maytag Motor Company, and after that he never looked back. It was not until 1915, however, after being associated for some time with the Sears Automobile Company, that he founded his own firm, the Duesenberg Motor Co., which was later changed to Duesenberg Motors Corp.

Duesenberg racing cars are famous for their victories in America, having won the Indianapolis 500 Mile Race three times. In Europe, everyone remembers their great victory in the French Grand Prix of 1921.

Frederick Duesenberg will be missed, not only by his countless friends, but by an those interested in the development of automobile design.
