More about the J.M.B.

Sir,

Further to the letter from Donald A. E. Cross regarding J.M.B.s, I enclose a photograph of the car I owned for 18 months.

The main modification I made was to the chain-driven steering. The whole of the mechanism from the steering wheel to the track rod and ends is completely interchangeable with a Ford 8/10 arrangement. This conversion is a must to all J.M.B. owners with regard to M.O.T.

Regarding the “mowing machine” J.A.P. engine, this was replaced by a 500-c.c. o.h.v. J.A.P., together with a 4-speed Burman boz; mods being needed when laying a vertical engine horizontal.
