No compromises

Sir,

Regarding some readers’ concerns about MOTOR SPORT not covering modern racing, I feel I must present the other side of the coin.

There are already many publications which extensively cover contemporary motor racing. MOTOR SPORT is now fulfilling a need for the ‘Classic’ or `Historic’ perspective. Personally I am extremely happy that at long last there is a high quality, extremely well presented and authoritative publication, which shares my enthusiasm and passion for the ‘Good Old Days’…

Graham Gauld’s short-lived Historic Racing magazine was right on the button. Thank goodness that MOTOR SPORT have been able to pick up the ball and run with it!

Please do not compromise and attempt to be ‘all things to all people’. For those who thirst for details of current events, may I suggest the recognised ‘bible’ of racing weeklies, namely Motoring News. That way the best of both worlds will be present in your motor racing library. What more could one ask for?

I am yours, etc
