Dodge dynamite!

50 years of Dodge muscle cars

Peter Grist

This covers a lot of ground in a relatively small space. It’s all there from brief mention of the Dodge brothers’ first steps producing bicycles and auto parts, and their early association with Ford, to the advent of the first Dodge car in 1914 and on to early NASCAR racers, through the streamlined, homologation special, Dodge Charger Daytona, the ‘General Lee’ 1969 Charger (apparently more than 200 were used in filming the Dukes of Hazzard series) and on to Viper GT racers and the latest Avenger-badged NASCAR Car of Tomorrow. There’s a huge quantity of information here, but the broad sweep and the sometimes overcrowded layout give it rather a disjointed feel. NP
