Six Hours gets bigger

With around 600 cars in action across three days, the Spa Classic Six Hours meeting at the end of September is one of the biggest historic race meetings of the season.

Headlined by the stunning six-hour event, which traditionally runs through to midnight on Saturday, the weekend is crammed with quality races including Grand Prix Masters, World Sportscar Masters, Sports Racing Masters and Gentleman Drivers.

For older cars the Woodcote Trophy, Pre-War Sports and BRDC Historic Sports Car series are on the schedule, but it is the six-hour contest that tops the bill.

Heavily over-subscribed once more, the Six Hours looks set to be a battle between Ford GT40s, Jaguar E-types and AC Cobras, and a quartet of GT40s should make the running. The combination of Christian Glasel and Aaron Hsu is very strong, while Richard Meins and Shaun Lynn had not confirmed second drivers at the time of writing.

In the Cobra pack father and son Grahame and Oliver Bryant are major contenders, while another father and son team, that of Chris Chiles Senior and Junior, is joined by Paul Ingram in their rapid Cobra.

Heading a gaggle of at least 10 E-types are the Minshaw brothers Jon, Jason and Guy, but the combination of Juan Barazi and Michael Vergers is also very potent.
