6 6 ROUND THE UNION OF SOUTH AFRICA.”

An interesting booklet with the above title has just been published by Singer & Co., Ltd., of Coventry, and may be obtained by Mo’roa SPORT readers post free on application to the company. It tells of a test of a Singer ” Junior” which was of so strenuous a nature that, as the foreword points out, the reader might be inclined to doubt the veracity

of the facts. To dispel these doubts, however, an official observer of the Automobile Association of South Africa was carried throughout the trip, and in addition the civic seal and Mayoral autograph were obtained in each important town en route. The objects of the test, as explained in the foreword, were twofold : (I) To prove that the British small car is capable of speedy and satisfactory performance on some of the worst roads in the world ; and (2) To raise money for the Natal Radium

The cares suceess in both purposes is fully described in the booklet, which is tastefully produced, ‘and forms a worthy asset to the motorist’s library.
