Two Sports Chassis, the Nine and One-and–a-half Litre.

BASICALLY the Singer sports range of models for 1934 remains the same, but the two chassis, the Nine and the 14 litre, have an optional new feature in the Singer Pre-selective Clutchless Gear-change, to give it its full title.

With this device gear-changing consists merely of placing the gear-lever into the desired position, accompanied by an easing of the accelerator pedal, without

touching the clutch. In fact, the clutch pedal is only used for getting away from a standstill. Incorporated with this feature is an automatic re-starting device which obviates engine-stalling in traffic. The open four-seater Nine still sells at 2185, and the wonderful performance of these cars in Trials and races this season has set the seal on its reliability and speed. buretters, special manifold, knock-on. hub-caps, Brooklands spring steering wheel, and Hartford shock absorbers. The Nine coupe is acknowledged to be one of the prettiest little cars on the road. to-day, and offers extraordinary value at 2199. The coachwork finish is of the highest standard, and can be obtained in an attractive range of colour-schemes.

The 14 litre chassis carries a similar choice of bodies. The open four-seater is a really handsome car, workmanlike and well finished. Its performance on the road is no less remarkable, and the car provides a rapid means of comfortable transport for four people. At 2295 the Singer 14 litre Sports 4 seater is one of the outstanding cars in the sports car market, The Sports Coupe is a full four-seater,. and has faultless lines. As usual, the equipment is amazingly complete, and forms part of the high quality which is conveyed by the appearance of the car. The price is 2325, and as on the rest of the sports range the Pre-selective Clutchless gear-change can be obtained for an extra 210 10s. If desired the 16 h.p. 2 litre engine can be supplied in the coupe for an additional 212 12s.

Altogether the Singer sports range is outstanding for chassis of genuinely high performance combined with coach built bodies,—and selling at a remarkably low price.
