The 1965 Formula One

Sir,
As it is somewhat fashionable to propose new Formulae for the 1965 Grand Prix series, I hope I may be forgiven for writing on this subject.

The wonderful success of Lotus at Indianapolis suggests an ideal combination. The Formula could be planned to ally British or Continental chassis know-how to an American or similar mass-produced high-output standard engine limited possibly to 5-litres and in over-the-counter cost. (£750 might be a suitable figure if one could buy a Ford V8 Galaxie power unit for that sum.)

With this Formula one can imagine the interest and support Grand Prix racing could command.

There must be difficulties I cannot foresee because the more I consider the cars the better I like it.
