I lived in Leyland for twenty years and my father was Leyland Motors’ Chief Computer Progammer.
When there was a “Motors” open day, sometime in the mid sixties, I distinctly remember climbing into the Leyland 8 and playing with a centre gear change.
Congratulations on the magazine; better luck next time with the “8”, and since Jody Scheckter seems to have settled down, how about organising a petition for the reinstatement of Woodcote? Chicanes cause accidents as Monza has shown, and cars go through the Woodcote chicane at 125 m.p.h. Surely a chap hit by an F1 wheel doing 125 m.p.h. won’t feel much better next day than someone hit by a similar wheel doing 150 m.p.h.?
