Correction

I do not propose to have an “Oh Dear . . .” Department this month, because most of the slip-ups in last month’s issue were typographical errors, easily understood, one hopes. But John Rowley has reminded me that when I paid tribute (in the July issue) to the excellent showing made by Willie Green in the 1927 11/2-litre GP Delage at the 1980 VSCC Oulton Park Meeting “on its first appearance” in such an event, I should have qualified this by saying “since its restoration for Anthony Bamford”. The car was, in fact, raced before this in VSCC events, R Habershon winning the 1949 Itala trophy Race with, I think, this same car, while John Rowley won that race in a 11/2-litre GP Delage in 1950 lapping at 78.69 mph. I do not, however, wish to become embroiled in arguments as to which of the team-cars these Delages are, or who their owners were after Louis Delage disposed of them!  WB.
