The White fantastic

Cooper-Bristol racer Kenneth White maintained his excellent recent form by winning the Bob Gerard Memorial Trophy during the VSCC’s annual visit to Mallory Park. White outpaced John Ure in ERA R9B as Neil Davies and Spencer Flack made it three Cooper-Bristols in the top four.

Other significant wins went to Tim Llewellyn (Bentley 3/8) in the Patrick Marsh Trophy race and to Michael Hibberd (Lotus 22— above) in the John Taylor Memorial Race for FJunior.

• In early August, a capacity field of more than 230 oars contested the VSCC Prescott hillclimb. Westie Mitchell (AC/ GN) set the fastest time of the day (43sec dead) in front of a packed crowd at the Gloucestershire venue. Mitchell set his time in the morning and just pipped the Cooper MkVI of John Dent and Cooper-Bristol of Spencer Flack. PL
