BROOKLANDS —’THE COMPLLIE MOTOR RACING HISTORY BY BILL BODDY MBE ISBN 1-899870-56-3 Published by Motor Racing Publications, £65.00
I HAVE BEEN USING WB’s Brooklands book as a reference for so long that it feels odd to be reviewing it. But MRP’s expanded edition feels very different, with larger pages and more photos, spread throughout the text rather than in groups of plates as before. The structure remains the same, a year-by-year description of events at the famous Weybridge Track, but now WB has incorporated the many small
corrections which have been building up in his notebook for years. With a wider photo selection and new layout drawings of various parts of the Track, the book is more ‘browsable’ than before. WB has extended his previous Epilogue to re flect recent developments at the Track, and my own Track Visit’ from MOTOR SPORT has been added to depict what remains outside the Museum. GC
