Shelsley to honour Collins

The life of British Grand Prix and sports car racer Peter Collins will be celebrated at his home venue of Shelsley Walsh over the weekend of August 16/17. Alongside rounds of the British Hillclimb Championship, several famous cars from Collins’ career will be demonstrated on the famous hill. Among the guests will be his widow Louise Collins King.

Collins raced for Ferrari for three seasons, and a 250TR Testa Rossa and a current 430 GT racer will be on hand. From Aston Martin will come the DB3 that Collins drove in the 1953 Mille Miglia and the DB3S he raced with Tony Brooks to second place at Le Mans in 1955.
