Although the balance of the 2011 racing calendar at Donington Park is in disarray, the date for the second running of the Donington Historic Festival has already been confirmed.

The event will run over the weekend of May 5/6 and will build on the 2011 Festival, which attracted over 300 competitors and 12,000 visitors. The 2012 date puts the event on the weekend before the Monaco Historic Grand Prix, which will impact on the race categories that can be run at the Donington Festival.

Problems over planning permission have forced Donington Park management to cancel several race meetings scheduled over the second half of 2011.
