At this year’s Festival of Speed we witnessed another celebration of Formula 1’s 75th anniversary – although as you’d expect, Goodwood’s was rather special. On Sunday, the four-time F1 world champion Alain Prost was centre stage, driving his 1988 Monaco Grand Prix-winning McLaren MP4/4 before appearing on the balcony. It was the Frenchman’s second balcony visit. The previous day he’d been accompanied by six other F1 title winners – Nigel Mansell, Mario Andretti, Sir Jackie Stewart, Emerson Fittipaldi, Jacques Villeneuve and Mika Häkkinen; 14 championships over four decades.
