Second, Sir Chris Hoy had a run in our Lola T292 ahead of the BRDC Classic at Silverstone, where we will share the car. After being initially nervous, Chris was reassured by some of the car’s features. Right down to the big long rollbar that sits at the front, it’s exactly the same as a Radical, the car in which Chris cut his teeth in racing – just with a manual gearbox. This might make a Lola aficionado a bit sniffy, but I’d dare them to spot the difference!
He just took off in it; he was genuinely brilliant. So at Silverstone for the BRDC Classic, a circuit he loves, I’d expect him to be his normal on-it self. I can’t wait to see how it goes…
