A RAPIER QUERY
Sir,
“W. B.” reviews the London Motor Show and of the Sunbeam Rapier comments that the steering is spongy.
I purchased a new Rapier III in June last year, and I have covered 3,000 miles. My only comment on this delightful car is, as “W. B.” says, the steering is spongy, or rather that one would like to feel that it was more positive and responsive than it actually is. Can you advise me as to whether any improvement can be made, or has been effected, in this direction, or, alternatively, put me in touch with someone who has gone into this problem, since I myself am very keen to endeavour to eradicate this weak feature
on an otherwise excellent model ? Needless to say, the steering has been checked to ensure that all the geometry conforms with the manual data.
