Motor Sport Christmas gift guide: products

Car Culture

The best motor sport products feature in part five of our Christmas gift guide

Brooklands Automobile Racing Club

A brand new range of products inspired by the original Brooklands Race Cards from the 1930s is now available exclusively from the Brooklands Museum online shop. The artwork has been developed by the award-winning team at Hemingway Design, headed by Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway who gained notoriety in the 1980s with their Red or Dead footwear brand. Mugs, tote bags, coasters and magnets evoke the heyday of British motor sport at Brooklands in the post-war era that made it a household name.

Personalised car box files

This box file is perfect for storing the paperwork for a classic car or organising a messy desk (such as this one I’m currently writing from) as the spine can be personalised with the logo of your chosen marque. Our very own Skoda could have a file of its own, complemented by its registration number, chassis number or maybe its affectionate nickname – ‘Dukla’ – embossed in gold or silver lettering. An easy win for the classic car owner in your life. Just note that it takes up to 10 days for delivery.

Full details for the GRRC Fellowship membership benefits are available here.

Touring Bag

Motor Sport luggage

You may not be lucky enough to own a car with a matching luggage set, but this touring bag wouldn’t look out of place in a Range Rover or a Mazda MX-5. It’s designed to fit behind the seats in a roadster or in the cabin of a plane. It’s made of soft cowhide leather and cotton with pockets for your phone or passport, with Swiss-made zips and detachable handles. Plus, it’s made in the UK.

BMW M1 t-shirt

Sport a t-shirt featuring a sketch of one of the most covetable BMWs ever made. The M1 is an icon, and with the new one-make Procar race heading to the Goodwood Members Meeting in April, this could be a timely gift too. It features subtle BMW branding as well – no huge logos here.

From £30 – BMW

Notebook and passport holder

Made of leather, this notebook and passport holder is perfect for your next road trip. No more faffing around for your documents as you leave the ferry to France. On a side note, this would complement the Motor Sport luggage set perfectly. It’s available in a range of colours to suit you or the recipient.

Steering Wheel Cufflinks

Les Leston was a racing driver who sold automotive accessories from his London shop. These cufflinks from The Driver Society pay homage to his original designs from the 1950s and ’60s, featuring the ‘LL logo’ in the middle of the wheel. They’re made out of sterling silver and assembled and polished by hand in the United States.
