Formula 1 returns from its summer break this weekend with the Dutch Grand Prix at 2pm BST on Sunday, as the championship resumes at Zandvoort before the circuit disappears from the calendar.
The Dutch venue will host the fifth, and penultimate, sprint weekend of the year after China, Miami, Canada and Great Britain, which means that you may need to sneak a work break to catch sprint qualifying live at 3.30pm on Friday, ahead of Saturday’s 11am sprint race.
Zandvoort’s 14 corners leave little room for error, while its narrow track makes following and overtaking difficult.
The banked Arie Luyendijkbocht is one of the defining features of the modern layout, allowing drivers to carry high speeds before heading onto the main straight.
The circuit’s abrasive surface and fast corners put considerable demands on the tyres, with teams having to balance aerodynamic performance against degradation over the race distance.
Wind can also play a significant role, with the circuit’s exposed position among the dunes making conditions particularly changeable.
Overtaking has traditionally been difficult at Zandvoort, placing even greater importance on qualifying and tyre strategy, but it remains to be seen how the 2026 rules and ‘yo-yo racing’ will shape the race after the summer break.
Sky Sports F1 has exclusive live coverage in the UK, with Channel 4 providing free-to-air highlights across the Sprint, qualifying and Dutch Grand Prix.
