With all of the focus being on Indy and Alonso you might have missed IndyCar’s concept images of its next-generation car set for 2018.
Teams will still choose between either Chevrolet or Honda engines, but the aero kits will be universal – though supplier is yet to be confirmed.
There will be two configurations, one with more downforce courtesy of large rear and front wings for the road courses and short ovals, the other being trimmed for speedways.
IndyCar has said, “the kit has been reverse-designed to start with a look of past Indy car favourites while also incorporating the latest technological and safety advancements.”
