Luigi Fagioli in a Mercedes-Benz W25B takes an early lead on one of the fastest circuits of the era, followed closely by multiple Alfa Romeos. But it wouldn’t last for long.
The Tripoli Grand Prix in Mellaha, Libya, an Italian colony at the time, attracted the best teams and drivers from all over the world.
The Mercedes-Benz team performed fantastically, with two of their three drivers finishing on the podium. The 1935 race was won by Rudolf Caracciola, while Fagioli ended third.
