The fine art prints depict Jean Guichet pulling out of the Mulsanne corner whilst racing his Ferrari 250 GTO at Le Mans in 1962. Following him is the car meant for Stirling Moss, who was unable to take part after sustaining career-ending injuries at Goodwood earlier that year.

Description

Not Sterling Without Stirling / 24 Hours Le Mans, France / 23-24 June 1962

As the early morning sun pulls up behind Virage de Mulsanne, Jean Guichet pulls out of one of the most famous corners in racing. The red Ferrari 250 GTO along with its other driver, Pierre Noblet, would go on to take the title in the GT class (2nd overall).

The mint green GTO in the background, driven by Innes Ireland and Masten Gregory, would not be so lucky; ending the race after the 165th lap in a car originally built for Sir Stirling Moss.

If Moss had not sustained career-ending injuries at Goodwood earlier in the year, would the roles have been reversed?
