It was a late decision by Mercedes to enter the Targa Florio, a tough road race on the island of Sicily and Stirling was on a beach in the Riviera when he got the call. Peter Collins was Stirling’s choice of co-driver for the 13 laps of the 45 mile course, but with a winning time of 9h 43m it was enough to wrap up the Sports Car Championship for Mercedes before the Silver Arrows were retired for good.

Our ‘quick-silver’ box set, features a 104 Targa Florio branded presentation box containing a ‘mirror’ display base, a 1/18 scale Mercedes-Benz 300SLR model, and plaque signed by Sir Stirling Moss, along with a photo Certificate of Authenticity.

The perfect gift or addition to your quality collection.
