Mansell emerged victorious, with Senna’s car running out of fuel on the penultimate lap. waving to the crowd on the slowing down lap, the Englishman spotted Senna’s motionless car by the side of the track. In a wonderful act of sportsmanship, Mansell gave the Brazilian a lift back to the pit lane, with Senna perching on the side pod of Mansell’s FW14.
