Twists and turns, bumps in the road, treacherous off-line.
It can only be F1 Fantasy this weekend in Budapest, as the world championship gears up for the 2025 Hungarian GP.
Max Verstappen proved his worth in the F1 sprint in Belgium, but Fantasy hero Oscar Piastri was ice cool when it mattered in the big race.
In the hot, humid conditions of Budapest, with a bit of rain thrown in for good measure, the Aussie’s unruffled approach could be just what’s needed – unless you decide to gamble with an outsider choice for the inclement weather.
There’s also a crucial constructor change to ponder this weekend at the inimitable Hungaroring.

How did Motor Sport’s 2025 Belgian GP F1 Fantasy picks do?
Oscar: He’s in Zak’s Fantasy line-up
McLaren
The Motor Sport recommendations continue to pay dividends, our Spa choices snaring 243 Fantasy points. This means our season-so-far total is 2839, giving us a ranking of 756 out of 31k in our league. Not too bad.
Oscar Piastri might have ceded first in the Belgian sprint, but the Aussie rocketed back to first after passing Lando Norris on lap one of the GP to secure 84 Fantasy points with the DRS boost.
Elsewhere it was modest pickings, but aside from Isack Hadjar’s -7 caused by a strategy disaster, our scores were still in the green.
Liam Lawson copped 7 Fantasy points with a canny drive to eighth in the main race, while Oliver Bearman did his usual job of qualifying poorly then slicing through the field to finish 11th. It says something of the Brit’s Fantasy antics (i.e. doing lots of overtaking) that he lies fourth bottom in the actual championship but is ninth in the Fantasy reckoning.

Fernando Alonso also got seven points for gaining a few spots in the race.
In the constructor battle, ever-reliable McLaren pulled in 93 Fantasy points, while Mercedes scored a pretty decent 50, bolstered by George Russell’s fastest lap in the GP.
‘Are we having fun yet?’ tops the Motor Sport league with 3219 points, scoring 277 in Belgium with Piastri (84 with DRS), Lawson (9), Hülkenberg (7), Bearman (7) and Alonso (7).
However, the difference maker is in the constructors. While this player’s team has McLaren (93) as the first constructor pick, the second is Ferrari (70). AWHFY clearly chose the Scuderia when the price was lower earlier in the season, making for a potent line-up which is now a consistent high scorer.
Motor Sport’s 2025 Hungarian GP F1 Fantasy choices: Should you keep Mercedes?
Ferrari has outscored Mercedes recently

As long as he keeps winning races and shovelling in the Fantasy points, Oscar Piastri should be your lead choice along with the DRS Boost.
Hadjar, still somehow just $5.7m, finished a brilliant fourth in Hungary FP1. He should definitely remain in your line-up, as should his team-mate Liam Lawson due to also being cheap at $4.5m.
However, we might suggest a change elsewhere. Due to Kimi Antonelli’s struggles at Mercedes, Ferrari has become a much more consistent Fantasy points scorer with both Leclerc and Hamilton.

The way to afford this would be to exchange Bearman ($8.1m) and Alonso ($6.9m) for Bortoleto ($4.7m) and Gasly ($6m). The Sauber driver has been in good form recently and Gasly is still wrestling results from Alpine’s unruly 2025 challenger.
These transfers would make it possible to afford the Scuderia/Silver Arrows switch. Ferrari’s consistency means it will likely only increase in value, soon making the transfer impossible.
Which F1 chips should I use at the 2025 Hungarian GP?
We’d advise holding onto to your chips for now with so many races left to run.
The wet weather on Sunday could favour someone who gambles, but with these super high-downforce cars – and F1’s reluctance to run in super wet conditions – shock results are few and far between these days.
