Yeoman Credit Racing Team have recently taken delivery of a new Albion Transporter which will be seen at all the F.1 events in Europe and at home. The Transporter will carry three cars and give the mechanics workshop facilities as well. It is a lightweight Albion chassis, powered by a 104-h.p. six-cylinder Leyland horizontal diesel engine mounted in unit construction with a six-speed gearbox below frame level. To give maximum speed of over 65 m.p.h., engine r.p.m. have been increased to 2,400, a sixth-speed overdrive has been incorporated in the gearbox, and a rear axle with a ratio of 5.2 to 1 has been fitted and it is equipped with vacunfo hydraulically. operated brakes on all wheels.
