O.J.'s Sport Fiat
Replying to the query we set them in January, the Fiat Register considers that the rather odd sports Fiat which “O. J.” drove in 1922 must have been a 501S model, bodied in this country. They base this on the top speed in excess of 50 mph and a happy cruising speed of 40 mph being in keeping with 501 performance and there is evidence of English-made bodywork on Fiat cars in Toms’ 1925 505, which has English writing pencilled on several parts of the body. Incidentally, the Fiat Register caters for Fiats of all kinds and has been promoting the pre-war Fiat Topolino in a special section. — W.B.
