LEADED FUEL
Sir,
A friend of mine recently returning from Wales, found himself. so he tells me, following the biggest and blackest tyre marks he had ever seen on a road. Between them the road surface was chipped and scored ; and this effect had developed into something like a trench before he came up with the stationary and crowd-surrounded cause. It was one of those vast petrol-tanker lorries, and it had sat right down through the disintegrated remains of its battery of back axles.
