CHANGE TO R.O.P.
WHEN the engine begins to hesitate before you reach the stiff part of the hill, it is time to change—and when you fill up next time change your petrol too!…
RONNIE PETERSON gave the four-year-old Lotus 72 its second Grand Prix win of the year when he beat the two works Ferraris in the French Grand Prix at Dijon-Prenois (above). Both 72s finished in the first half-dozen, Peterson’s team-mate Jacky lckx being photographed on the left leading Denny Hulme’s McLaren M23 towards fifth place in the closing stages of the race. In the early stages, John Watson’s Brabham BT42 (No. 28) was running strongly in the middle of the field where it is here seen leading Beltoise’s BRM P201, but the brown Brabham eventually was delayed by a cracked exhaust pipe and had to make a pit stop.
