Jaguar The Complete Works, by Nigel Thorley. Bay View Books, £19.95.
I nearly fell into the jaded reviewer’s trap of saying “nothing new here”; while broadly true, that perhaps shouldn’t be such a damning comment. If you haven’t got a Jaguar book, this is a good overall runthrough, nicely presented, with tabular summaries for each model and well-chosen pictures from Swallow sidecar to supercharged XJR. And in fact there are some novelties in the ‘oddities’ chapter, including the only Mk1 XJ Coupe and the long-wheelbase XJS. GC
