Ferrari 365GTB/4 Daytona Competizione

By Christian Huet

The author’s Ferrari specialisation is even tighter focused in this large-format hardback, which concentrates solely on the Daytona coupé in competition.

Instead of the usual overview, plus the individual chassis histories, Huet knits every part of the story into continuous text, which makes for a smoother read, but also harder to track an individual car.

An inspired layout for the bi-lingual French-English text leads you season-by-season from the Daytona’s inception (with Ferrari’s usual fudging of homologation) to its swansong (as late as 1981), with a results listing and a studio photoset of one car to round off.

It’s very thorough, but you’d have to be a devoted Ferrari completist to read this one in bed. GC
