In 1970 everything came together and American race fans enjoyed what was the greatest season in Trans-Am history. All of the big manufacturers — Ford, Chevrolet, Pontiac, Dodge, Plymouth and AMC — were there, as were many of the best drivers of the era: Parnelli Jones, Peter Revson, George Follmer, Mark Donohue, Jerry Titus and Jim Hall. These two factors would provide more wham-barn thrills than the series had ever seen.
