Glasgow’s tradition of being a start point for the Monte Carlo Rally will be revived in January, though not for the IRC round. It’s the Monte Carlo Rally Historique, marking the 100th anniversary of the original event, which will have one of its starts in Glasgow on January 26, with crews then heading for the concentration run at Reims to join others from Warsaw and Marrakesh.

Meanwhile, at the end of 2011 the Classic Rally Association has decided to ‘rest’ the Rally of the Tests in favour of reviving the Winter Challenge from November 20-25. The event will finish in Monte Carlo, with start points in Chester and Holland and a common route through Northern France to Beaune.
