We learn that ” Nile ” batteries were used on the Mount Everest expedition for operating the cameras. They were transported across Tibet on mules, and, notwithstanding a good deal of rough usage and having to work in intense cold, their operation was most successful and the only attention the batteries required during the whole of the expedition was a change of rubber corks twice, the addition of a little water, and cleaning of the terminals.
