Chevron fixed for F2 outings

Thirty years after its last race, Chevron B42 chassis 16 will be back in action next season in the experienced hands of Hugh Price in Historic Formula 2 races.

Raced when new in 1978 by US driver John David Briggs (above), the car was used the following season in F2 and Aurora British F1 races by Warren Booth, running in the colours of Crown Paints.

It was destined for use as the basis of a Special Saloon, but was instead stored for three decades before Price acquired it. It is now with Mike Catlow for a full rebuild.

“When I bought it the bodywork was still in Booth’s colour scheme,” said Price.
