Sir,

In recent weeks we have received letters from Secretaries of Clubs supporting the lost cause of two once famous makes of motor car, stating that their car holds the record for the maximum number of races ever won. As comparative newcomers to the racing scene we would be the first to concede the appropriate honours to anyone who can prove Lotus are not justified in making their claim to have won more races than any marque ever.

Students of motor racing and statistics can probably help to decide this issue, although they should be quick to provide the answer as Lotus are currently adding to their World-wide list of successes at the rate of six victories per week, in this the off season.

We hope your readers can help us to settle this argument to the satisfaction of all supporters of marques past and present.

Cheshunt. G. J. Arnold, Group Sales Manager, Lotus Cars Limited.
