Class Division

It is to the credit of the VSCC that it recieves such large entries for its events, a sign of the healthy state of the vintage world as a whole. But big entries mean much time needed to complete race meetings and sprint events. For this reason the VSCC abandoned the class for road-equipped cars up to 1100cc at Shelsley Walsh this year. It seems a shame, as it eliminated many keen drivers of such cars unless they cared to compete against those of up to 1500cc, which only four drivers of non s/c cars under-1100 out of 22 elected to do.

It is especially hard truck for owners of sports A7 Ulsters, which even if most are replicas, at least look like the originals. This is no reflection on the excellent Shelsley Walsh hill-climb itself, at the virtually unchanged venue dating back to 1905.
