The VSCC

The VSCC used the quarter-mile Stratford County Raceway for its October speed trials. Paul Richardson’s 1959 5.3-litre Lister-Chevrolet made FTD in 12.24sec. Best time by a pre-war car was that of the ERA R14B, in 13.31sec, driven by Robert Satchell. Of vintage cars, Clive Williams’ 24-litre Bentley Napier was fastest in 14.57sec. It was good to see George Daniels head the Edwardian class with his recently acquired 1908 GP Itala, which was timed at 20.43sec.
