THE FOUR SPEEDBOATEERS.
THE preparations of the four Oxford undergraduates who are starting from London for Belgrade (Serbia) on the 24th July, are nearing completion. Their two Watermota powered speed dinghies which are at Power Craft Services yard at Twickenham, are now undergoing the ” fitting up ceremony.” These dinghies will be
very interesting when they are complete. The fuel system will be simple but safe. Behind the pilot and navigator, there will be eight twogallon petrol tins held in a rack. From these a special tank between the pilot and navigator will be filled periodically. The bulk of the fuel will then be handy, should the pressure system fail. Cunning ?
The aeroplane compasses will be mounted on the respective dashboards, while all perishable goods will be stored under the forward decking.
As these fellows will probably be off before the next issue of MOTOR SPORT makes its appearance, we wish them the very best of luck.
