Warburton (Allard) made the best sports-car time, in 52.78 sec., and the “500s” had a rare battle amongst themselves, Lones in the re-vamped and now rear-engined Tiger-Kitten winning in 52.4 sec. from Reece’s Cooper (53.49 sec.). Brandon’s V-twin Cooper took the 1,100-c.c. racing class in 49.61 sec, from Christie (50.42 sec.). John Cooper, in a mysterious 1,102-c.c. Cooper, clocked 50.64 sec. to win the 1 1/2-litre class from the Norris-Special (54.69 sec.). J. S. Fry’s E.R.A. took the 2-litre class in 51.74 sec., Winks’ Myer the Formula II class after an earlier episode at Orchard Corner, and Densham’s 1913 Calcott won the Edwardian class on formula, Clutton’s Itala being fastest here, in 69.4 sec.
