V.S.C.C. Light Car Section Trial (April 22nd)

An excellent entry, for this class of event, of 27 started from Thame on the day following the V.S.C.C. Silverstone Race Meeting. There were tests of cold-starting, acceleration, braking and hillclimbing, as well as marks for the morning road rally, lack of noise, condition and age of car, while petrol consumption was also checked. It is significant that Wood’s 1923 rear-wheel-braked Riley Eleven coupe was best in the brake test. Sowers’ 1926 Lea-Francis made best performance in the Britwell Hill test.
