The best car in the World

I enjoyed reading your article on the Mercedes Benz 190, but feel you did not make quite clear that the basic price of £1,362 you quoted includes import duty.

I own two 190’s both collected from the factory. The 1959 Model cost me £780 basic price (with a little discount—without discount basic price was £820) and the 1961 Model, no discount, was £850. I think that people, and British motor manufacturers, should be made fully aware of the true price of this car, without the frills of the import duty and purchase tax.
