Saxons

Sir,

Further to your “Fragments on Forgotten Makes” in the April issue, you may not be aware of the 1916 Saxon in the private collection of Mr. C. B. North of Hull.

This Saxon languished, crated-up, in a Hull dockyard, from the First World War until discovered by Mr. G. P. Thompson of Brough, East Yorkshire, in 3952. Mr. C. M. F. Judge of North Cave competed with the car on several early Hull-Scarborough Veteran Car Runs, but the car ended up on the back of a lorry on more than one occasion, owing to a malfunction of the two speed-gear.
