Mile Miglia tour hits capacity

July 7, 2014

The Mille Miglia regularity tour will take to the course of the famous Italian road race on May 15-18, with a capacity entry selected from over 1700 applications. Crews will tackle 49 tests over a 995-mile route from Brescia-Rome-Brescia.

Forty-four cars in the ’08 entry drove on the event in period, when it ran 24 times between 1927-57, and 40 of the entries are British. Notable cars include Giannino Marzotto’s winning Ferrari Berlinetta from 1950 and the Ferrari 340 in which Luigi Villoresi won a year later.

Here is a man who goes racing every weekend from March to October. Paul’s passion for the sport goes back to when he was a child of the 1960s. He has organised, competed in and marshalled on scores of events, and has written about the subject for 20 years. He is as at home in the paddock at Brands Hatch as in a Welsh forest or at Shelsley Walsh.
