The question “What is a sports car?” is as old as the sports car itself! Under the heading “Sports Cars” in the classified advertisements of contemporaries we find the following cars included: Hudson convertible, Peugeot 203, Fiat 500 coupé, Austin Ten two-seater, Austin Seven four-seater, Standard Fourteen saloon, Rolls-Royce 20/25 limousine, Triumph Dolomite coupé, Ford V8 utility, Humber Snipe saloon, Lancia Dilambda saloon, Citroën Fifteen saloon, Morris Eight saloon, Rover Seventeen saloon, Talbot 3-litre coupé, Riley Nine saloon, etc.
