A news item which got squeezed-out last year but is worth reporting concerns Phillippe le Breton (erstwhile Bailliol) who landed in England from Mauritius and, needing spares for a special he has built from parts of a B.S.A. three-wheeler, the only one in Mauritius, called on Basil Roy Ltd. in Great Portland Street, who are quoted in B.S.A. handbooks as the one-time spares agents. Basil Roy had no spares for these pre-1939 vehicles but their helpful Mr. Cox referred the overseas’ visitor to the Events Secretary of the B.S.A. Front-Wheel-Drive Club, which now has 80 keen members here and abroad.

The Events Secretary (whose Concours-winning B.S.A. three-wheeler can be seen emerging from Regents Park most evenings, we are told) rang up “Spares,” took Mr le Breton down to his house in the country, a complete spare power unit was discovered, purchased and measured for crating, etc., and within three days a surprised but well-satisfied overseas’ visitor had met his motoring requirements. This sounds like a go-ahead Club and other front-wheel-drive B.S.A. owners may care to know of it, especially in view of the now-compulsory vehicle tests.
