I would like to pick out a remark made by D.S.J. in his article “The Formula One Scene” about Firestone tyres. If people cannot remember when the last time Firestone tyres won a major Grand Prix then they must have very short memories. Emerson Fittipaldi won his first championship driving a Lotus which was shod on Firestone tyres and that was only three seasons ago. Ferrari sports cars also had a great deal of success that season with Firestone tyres.
Thank you for a good all-round magazine.
