Alain Prost wins Brazilian GP (above) as leader Derek Warwick retires Renault RE50 with suspension failure. Hannu Mikkola takes Quattro to victory in Portugal ahead od a trio of Lancia 037s. Austin Rover unveils its GpB contender: MG6R4.

1974

Jacky Ikcx pulls off a legendary passing move on Niki Lauda’s Ferrari to win Race of Champions at Brands hatch in his Lotus 72 (above). Peter Revson dies in a testing accident at Kyalami. Raffaele Pinto leads Fiat 124 Spyder 1-2-3 on Portugal’s TAP Rally.

1954

Stirling Moss/Bill Lloyd (above) win Sebring 12 hours in a 1500cc OSCA. Another OSCA – this one with a 1350cc engine – wins Lyons-Charbonnières Rally. Stan Jones laps entire field to win Victoria Trophy at Fisherman’s Bend in his Maybach Spl.

1929Mollart’s Ac is reported to be “steaming lustily” on the Junior Car Club’s sporting trial. Talbot driver W J Brunell wins top award. AC does not suffer much: one week later it reappears at Leeds MC’s trial, where it’s described as “very good’.
