Pre-war cars to be tested on rally tour

A new historic road rally for pre-war cars will be held from March 27-29, when Philip Young’s Endurance Rally Association runs the London to Edinburgh Trial. The event, also known as the ‘Flying Scotsman’, will start from Brooklands at midday on Friday and take in overnight halts at Warwick and Harrogate before finishing at Edinburgh late on Sunday afternoon.

“This is planned as an arduous, challenging and sporting drive and it will not be easy,” said Young after confirming that over 40 of the 60 available entries have already been taken. The oldest entry so far is the 1905 Gordon Bennett Star of Jonathan Turner.
